So, you want to run tumblers! But which rotary is best?
We asked 50 people with the PiBurn what their favorite rotary was. Of them, 38 people have purchased the PiBurn to upgrade from a different rotary. In some cases, the PiBurn was not the second or third, but the fifth rotary our customers have tried.
And, no surprise, they ALL said that the PiBurn is the best rotary for running tumblers. Their old rotaries are now collecting dust.
Here is what they are saying:
The PiBurn is my 5th and last rotary. So well thought out and constructedWell worth the money - Jeff R
PiBurn V3 build quality is amazing. When you run your laser has hard and as long as we do during the holiday season – having the Pi will let you sleep at night. We had a good one before, but the Pi just raises the bar – a lot. Machined parts instead of 3D printed – how things are constructed make changing over between sizes a breeze – and switching from smaller to huge items that require that you remove the clamp (e.g., growlers, 32oz water bottles) is significantly easier and faster with the Pi. Time is money – precision is money – the Pi saves time and is precise. - Todd T

But why do people love the PiBurn so much?
We created a list of things that our customers said set the PiBurn apart from their old clunky rotaries:
PiBurn vs Your Old "Plastic Fantastic" Rotary
1. Plastic Fantastic has some support issues. Where are their manuals and training videos? If something happens you’re on your own. But PiBurn support will be with you each step of the way.
2. Plastic Fantastic uses cheap 3D printed parts for the main motorized wheels and other parts. It's too flimsy and needs to be propped up. But PiBurn uses CNC wheels which allows for better precision and all metal parts, even the clamp! It's solid.
3. Plastic Fantastic may use o-rings that dry rot constantly causing skipping and needing constant cleaning. PiBurn does not have this issue, and we don’t use o-rings on the turn knob.
4. Plastic Fantastic is probably overly complicated and over-engineered so there are more things to break. PiBurn is simple, elegant, and minimalistic
5. Let's face the hard truth. Plastic Fantastic is ugly. How does it look itself in the mirror? PiBurn is made by a professional designer and looks like an art piece
6. Plastic Fantastic is more expensive in the long run because it will cause you to mess up cups and it has less versatility than the state of the art Pi
7. It is very difficult to adjust for the length of the cup with a Plastic Fantastic model, its a snap with the Pi
8. It's challenging to swap out cups with the way the Plastic Fantastic clamp is designed. They didn't think things through. Very fast and easy with the Pi
9. It's tricky to do wine glasses with the Plastic Fantastic since the back stopper is either missing or not adjustable, with the Pi it's a snap since there is an adjustable backstop and front stop.
10. The height adjustment on the PiBurn is amazing. Fast, accurate, and easy to use. Plastic Fantastic? Not so much.
11. The motor of your Plastic Fantastic is on the inside of the wheels, this will cause mugs with larger handles to snag. Frustrating. The PiBurn has the motor on the outside and out of the way of your larger mugs, so they rotate freely. We think of everything! (Also with this configuration you don't have to mirror your image!)
And most importantly...
12. Plastic Fantastic lacks a community ready to help you when you need tips on settings. PiBurn boasts a vibrant, growing community of makers with tons of people asking and getting help. Makers absolutely love the PiBurn for the time it saves them and the cash it makes them!

We want to see you succeed with your laser business or hobby. Many makers ask us, how should we make money using your rotary? Well, to answer that question, we decided to create a series of blog posts featuring some of our awesome customers hoping this will serve as inspiration for others.
The market is big. In fact, it's HUGE and growing. There are 32 million small businesses in the US alone. All of them need to connect with their customers.
People want customization, and that's where you come in, addressing a significant gap in the market with your business. And the most surprising thing we found? The number of totally different ways you can grow your business is astounding!
But does it make sense to invest in a premium rotary tool like the PiBurn? Well, think about it this way:
Some of our customers charge 25$ per engraving a cup or tumbler. Just 30 tumblers (could be in just one order!) will cover the cost of the PiBurn and it will keep giving and giving. This is why so many of our customers swear by it - not only does it save them time and frustration (cheaper rotaries are just not as quality built and not as versatile) they think it's a real no-brainer.
But instead of telling you this, we wanted to talk about their inspiring success stories.
And the great news? You could be our NEXT featured PiBurner! We will write about you and your business, including the story on our blog, and blast it to our huge mailing list.
Why read this blog? The PiBurner Spotlight Blog Series is built to help you succeed!

OMTech makes quality laser machines at great value and the PiBurn is Plug and Play compatible
Bring on your tumblers and fire up your OMTech machine
We are excited to announce official compatibility with all OMTech laser engraving machines. The PiBurn is Plug and Play compatible out of the box.
Now, sure we have already had many customers using the PiBurn on their OMTech lasers but now, we have verified with the company true Plug and Play compatibility as they have been using a PiBurn of their very own for a few months now.
To purchase an OMTech compatible PiBurn, simply go to the PiBurn home page choose your rotary, and select OMtech from the Laser Make dropdown
Once that is done, you will need to select the type of feet you want, standard or our favorite, Magnetic Feet. These fold out of the way in case you need extra clearance.
For the stepper motor option, select 2-phase. All OMTech machines we have come across use 2-phase stepper drivers.
And yes, the PiBurn is Plug and Play compatible with your machine. No need to mess with the wiring, or worry about any modifications. It works out of the box.
Just dial in your settings and you are good to go.

Great news for everyone with a Thunder Laser machine.
PiBurn 3.0 works with your machine!
We are shipping the newly Thunder-compatible versions of PiBurn 3.0 starting this Monday 8/9/2021
To purchase, starting TODAY , simply go to the PiBurn product page and select Thunder from the Laser Make dropdown
Once that is done, you will need to select the type of feet you want, standard or our favorite, Magnetic Feet. These fold out of the way in case you need extra clearance.
Don't forget to indicate your plug type!
The older thunder models have 5 pins in their plug, but the newer models have 7 pins. Take a look at your socket where the rotary plugs in, just to be sure.

Happy PiBurning!
LensDigital team.
To celebrate the 4th of July, we decided to create this uniquely designed PiBurn - made in very limited quantities, just for 4th of July 2021.
Take a look at the video here: https://youtu.be/N3j18T_HW7c
[embed]https://youtu.be/N3j18T_HW7c[/embed]
At LensDigital, we are laser focused on the success of our customers. We obsess about design and detail that make the PiBurn so unique in the market for rotaries.
But for the 4th of July, we wanted to do something really special. While the PiBurn is already the best looking rotary out there, this special version is truly a work of art.
Coated metal parts are then laser engraved with an image of an eagle and resemble the star spangled flag of our great nation.
You can get one yourself, while supplies last: https://www.lensdigital.com/product/piburn-laser-rotary-attachment-3-0-limited-edition-4th-of-july/
We salute the great men in women in uniform who sacrifice so much for our freedoms and liberties.
Happy 4th of July everyone!
LensDigital team
We weren't sure if we can actually engrave this really bug tumbler/water bottle on PiBurn. Especially since it has this large handle that can't be removed. But we managed to engrave it with no issues. In addition in this video we go over important setup of PiBurn, we show from A to Z how to setup image and settings in Lightburn.
